Childhood Memories

I have always been more comfortable with boys than with girls. Maybe it's because I have an elder brother whom I look up to and have tried to better him in many ways. I remember as a kid I always wanted to do what my brother did and always followed him around. I try now to be my own but I think the following bit has still stuck. So when we were kids I followed him into a gang of boys, who ran, climbed trees, walked walls and I think I did pretty well. We had groups like TMNT, Street Fighter and everyone was assigned a role. We played out made up stories, training(lol), had tournaments and everything else. Afternoons the entire gang would sit at a friends place and play Sega because he had it then. Running around all the time, playing stupid games. I must say 'Those were the days' which is a staple dialogue for a friend, and we laugh when he says it, but those indeed were the days. I still hang out with these guys, but grown-ups complicate matters and things were much simple then. I'm just feeling a tad bit emotional as I realize things will never go back to being the same. Change is inevitable, time moves forward, people move on and you just have to move with changing times. What you can hold on to are the cherished memories and not people.
